Méndez Keeps Hit Streak Alive Friday, August 30th, 2041 Jesús Méndez has been on a tear for several weeks, and his hitting streak just keeps getting longer. The 26-year-old Marquette Miners shortstop extended his streak today to 20 games, going 1-for-4 as Marquette got the best of the Barton Springs Blues at Blues Field, 4-1. "Jesús has been playing real well lately and we're proud of him," Miners manager Christos Galpin said. Jesús Méndez grounded out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, flied out in the 6th and grounded out in the 8th. Méndez's current batting average stands at .256 and he has chalked up 1 home run and 40 RBIs. |
