Sperber and Covarrubias Fight, Get Suspended Sunday, June 30th, 2041 If there wasn't a history between Murray Sperber of Hialeah and Pancho Covarrubias of Florida, then there is one now. The incident between the two sparked a bench-clearing scrum with those two being the center of attention. Now they will miss 4 and 6 games respectively as a result of their actions. The league office announced their suspensions today. "We're both really competitive," Sperber said later, "and sometimes things go a little too far because of it." This season Sperber is batting .319 with 52 hits and 7 home runs. He has scored 26 times and has 32 RBI. This year Covarrubias has compiled a 1-6 mark with a 8.58 ERA. |
