Capmany Extends Hit Streak to 25 Games Friday, August 2nd, 2041 Nobody has been able to shut down Memphis Redbirds catcher Jesús Capmany in recent days. The Bloomington Longnecks fared no better than the rest. Today at Lookouts Ballpark, Capmany picked up 3 hits in 5 at-bats en route to a 6-2 Redbirds victory. It stretched his hitting string to 25 consecutive games. Jesús Capmany doubled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, grounded out in the 8th and hit a two-run double in the 9th. Presently Capmany is hitting .283 with 9 home runs and 33 RBIs. He has played in 61 games and scored 31 times. |
