Medina Gets Award for Relief Work
Tuesday, September 24th, 2041
At the age of 23, Rubén Medina says he still has a lot to learn about life in USSL Single A.
But he certainly seems to be a quick study, as the Caldwell Chiefs reliever was better than all others this year and has captured the 2041 USSL Single A Reliever of the Year Award.
"I hope to win this a few more times before all is said and done in my career," the Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic native said.
For the season, Medina had 3 saves in 28 relief appearances, which totaled 39. He fanned 63 betters, while walking 16 and put up a record of 4-0 to go with his 0.23 ERA.
He received 10 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Radislav Ciger of the Grim Reapers finished second in voting, while James Fitzgerald of the Grim Reapers finished third.
