3A's Best Starter is Lewis Monday, July 1st, 2041 There's something about a young rookie winning the M3L Single A Pitcher of the Month trophy that sends shock waves through the league. Such is the case with Deron Lewis, a 21-year-old starter for the Grand Forks Caterpillars. In June, he topped off the month with a 4-0 mark and 1.87 ERA in 7 starts, tossed 33.2 innings, fanned 52 and held opposing teams to a .205 average. So far this season, Lewis has logged a 5-1 record with a 3.59 ERA. He has started 12 games, hurled 57.2 innings and registered 75 strikeouts and 14 walks. |
