Northern Lions BC Clip Outlaws, 5-4
|
The Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC knocked off the Nashville Outlaws, 5-4, at Great Northern Field. Keaton Kringlen, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Thunder Bay won. The left fielder went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Roger Rodenburg got credit for the win, improving to 6-4. He allowed 4 runs on 7 hits in 6.1 innings. Jefferson Suhendro, credited with the save, is now 3 for 5 in save opportunities.
Kringlen contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Thunder Bay in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 4-3, Kringlen took a splitter from Bob Bolen and stroked the home run to left. His 23rd home run of the season allowed the Northern Lions BC to leap in front, 5-4.
"Keaton is still learning," said Northern Lions BC manager Scott Williams. "The sky's the limit for him."
The last-place Outlaws have dropped 4 straight games.
