The Greenville 84s got a superb performance from pitcher Jesús Silva, but the San Mateo Dirty Reds still won the game, 4-3. Silva was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball. José Cotilla got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2.1 innings. At 39-50, the Dirty Reds find themselves in 7th place in the Silver League.

San Mateo used the bat of Paul Tate to capture the win. The left fielder jacked a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Dirty Reds ahead, 4-3. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a dandy.

"We found a way to get it done," Tate said.
