Las Vegas second baseman Esteban León had a good game, even if his team did not. The Flamingos dropped a 5-4 decision to Thunder Bay at Great Northern Field. León was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Jason Huggins got credit for the win, improving to 2-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. Greg Hoover picked up the save for Thunder Bay, his 4th of the year.
Yao-pang Chiang, who is on pace to hit 28 home runs this season, chipped in for Thunder Bay with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the designated hitter had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 runs batted in.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Chiang told a Thunder Bay Daily reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
Thunder Bay, at 35-51, occupies last place in the Silver League.
