Dirty Reds 1B Kashani goes 3-for-5 in Win
|
The San Mateo Dirty Reds topped the Colorado Billy Goats by the score of 8-2, with the largest share of the credit going to first baseman Zahid Kashani. Kashani went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 doubles. He scored 2 times and drove in 4 for the Dirty Reds. Travis Morgan got the win, improving to 5-6. He pitched 9 innings, giving up 5 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 1. The 8th-place Dirty Reds improved to 33-41.
Kashani contributed a big hit, a 2-run double, for San Mateo in the top of the third. With his team trailing 2-1, Kashani took a curveball from Gonzalo Hernández and stroked the double to right. His 11th double of the season allowed the Dirty Reds to leap in front, 3-2.
