Cornu Hits 3 home runs in Northern Lions BC Win
|
The Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC knocked off the Greenville 84s, 4-2, at 84s Field. Sébastien Cornu, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Thunder Bay won. The catcher hit 3 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring three times. Getting the save was Greg Hoover, his 1st. The last-place Northern Lions BC have won 4 straight games.
In the top of the first, Cornu pounced on a 1-1 curveball from Glenn Suggett and hit a 2-run home run. It put Thunder Bay on top, 2-0.
"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Northern Lions BC manager Scott Williams. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
