Encarnación Hits 2 home runs in Bowties Win
|
Buckhead and Nashville got after it at Nashville Stadium.
With designated hitter Jesús Encarnación leading the charge, the Buckhead Bowties defeated the Nashville Outlaws, 11-4, at Nashville Stadium. Encarnación, who is on pace for 98 RBI this season, was 4 for 4 with 2 home runs, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3. Paul Haines got credit for the win, improving to 4-2. He allowed 4 runs on 10 hits in 8 innings.
Buckhead used the timely hitting of Silvio Capitanio to capture the win. The center fielder socked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Bowties ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was an important one.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Buckhead manager Kerry Hofmeister.
Buckhead, at 41-31, occupies third place in the Silver League.
