Rainbow Mermaids Win at Boston, 6-3
|
The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids topped the Boston Patriots by the score of 6-3, with the largest share of the credit going to shortstop John Juanda. Juanda went 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Rainbow Mermaids. Yoriyoshi Sugimoto earned the save, his 1st. Northern Virginia, at 2-0, is off to a blistering start.
Northern Virginia used the bat of Mario Castillo to capture the win. The left fielder jacked a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Rainbow Mermaids ahead, 4-3. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a dandy.
"It feels good to get this one," Castillo told the Northern Virginia Today.
