84s Fall Short at Ft. Worth
|
The Ft. Worth Cattlemen topped the Greenville 84s, 6-5, in United States Silver League action at The Cattle Pen. The player of the game was Ft. Worth pitcher Armando Romano. The winner was Ft. Worth reliever Hiroaki Kouda, now 2-2. The loser was Ramón Costello. The 5th-place Cattlemen raised their record to 35-36.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 14th inning, when Ft. Worth first baseman Semo Hoaloha, facing Ramón Costello, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Cattlemen the 6-5 win.
"Our team showed some spunk," said Hoaloha.
