Voodoo Come Back Late to Clip Evergreens
New Orleans beat Portland at Evergreen Park, escaping with a 8-7 win. The win in large part was due to designated hitter Jerry Yates, who earned player of the game honors. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. The win was Grover Lowdermilk's in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Raśl Romero took the loss for Portland. With the loss, Portland is 10-8.

One important at-bat for New Orleans came with no one out in the top of the ninth inning. With a runner on 1st, Yates hit a 2-run home run, which contributed to the Voodoo win.
