Flamingos Get Win, Extend Streak to 4
|
The Las Vegas Flamingos relied on the hitting of catcher Adrián Gómez to stop the Ft. Worth Cattlemen, 7-4. For the game, Gómez went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4. Takejiro Masuda was credited with the save for Las Vegas, his 12th of the season. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for Las Vegas.
Gómez contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Las Vegas in the top of the fourth. With his team trailing 1-0, Gómez took a fastball from Kabeya Kasongo and stroked the home run to right. His 13th home run of the season allowed the Flamingos to leap in front, 4-1.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Gómez.
