The Portland Evergreens moved to within one game of the Round 2043 today, downing the New Orleans Voodoo on the road at The Voodoo Lounge by a score of 11-5. Evergreens first baseman Tetsu Matsumoto was named player of the game after he slugged 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. The win gives the Evergreens a - advantage in the best-of- Round 2042.

It could have been a different outcome for Portland, had it not been for Surender Nada, the former first round draft pick . Nada contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth inning to put Portland up, 7-5.

"The name of the game is scoring runs," Matsumoto said. "We did a good job of that today."

The next game is scheduled for tomorrow at The Voodoo Lounge. Slated to start are Jason Poulter for the Portland Evergreens and Markus Widner for the the New Orleans Voodoo.
