In leading San Mateo to a crucial 4-2 victory over the Las Vegas Flamingos at Lang Park today, the San Mateo starter rose to the occasion, tossing 6.1 good innings and earning player of the game honors. Cabanillas Jr. threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball as the Dirty Reds defended their home field to seize a - lead in the best-of- Round 2042.

San Mateo grabbed control in the bottom of the sixth. With no one out and a runner on 1st, Zahid Kashani delivered a 2-run home run, to make it 4-2 in favor of the Dirty Reds.

"It's true for every sport, I think, but the playoffs are so short that you've just got to get in and get hot," San Mateo manager Dean Ashley told BNN after the win. "We took care of the first part and now we're just working on the second."
