Pivotal Game Goes to Host White Walkers, 5-0
|
On the verge of being swept and facing a red-hot New Orleans Voodoo team, the Buffalo White Walkers had a tough assignment. José Santos delivered.
The White Walkers shortstop was unstoppable for the visitors, as he went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once in guiding his club to its first victory of the series, 5-0. Santos, 32, was named player of the game for his efforts. The win means Buffalo now trails - in the best-of- series.
The White Walkers took a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth inning. Facing New Orleans hurler Mike Donovan with two outs, Santos hit a 2-run home run.
"We have been clicking right from the start of this series, so our mission statement at the moment is just don't tinker with anything," Buffalo manager Chris Lau told reporters.
The next game is set to be played Tuesday at The Voodoo Lounge. The scheduled starters for the game are Damien Hayward for the Buffalo White Walkers and Gary Ashley for the the New Orleans Voodoo.
