Road Win Lifts Crescent City to 1-0 Lead in R1
The Crescent City Krewe started the PL AA Championship in style today, winning on the road against the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles at Mercer Island Grounds by a score of 4-1 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Krewe right-hander Manny Pinto was named player of the game after he threw 5 innings of 4-hit ball.

Crescent City used the timely hitting of Dave Summers to capture the win. The right fielder stroked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Krewe on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but he made it count.

"It's hard to overstate how much this mattered to us, especially in a short series," Crescent City manager Kelly Flint said.

Game 2 is set to be played tomorrow. The scheduled starters for the game are John Combs for the Crescent City Krewe and Nolan Owens for the the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles.
