Home Field Advantage: Silva, Greenville Open Round 2042 with Win
|
The Greenville 84s moved to within one game of the Round 2043 today, downing the visiting New Orleans Voodoo at 84s Field by a score of 3-2. 84s right-hander Jesús Silva was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball. The win gives the 84s a - advantage in the best-of- Round 2042.
Greenville took a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning. With one out, catcher Ángelo Delgado hit a 2-run home run that set the crowd abuzz.
"It's a big deal," Silva said of the win. "If we had gone to 0- , we're pretty much out of it."
Game 4 is scheduled for tomorrow at 84s Field in Greenville. Slated to start are Gary Ashley for New Orleans and Ratko Peric for Greenville.
