Ghosts Win, Move to Within 1 Game of Round 2
|
A strong performance from pitcher Sidney Petty was not enough for the Northville Eclipse, who were stopped by the visiting Casper Ghosts in a 5-3 loss in Game 3 of the SL AA Championship today. The Ghosts never truly figured out the right-handed Petty, who threw 6 innings allowing 2 runs to earn player of the game honors. Still, the Ghosts now hold a 3-0 in the best-of-5 series.
Casper grabbed control in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and the bases loaded, Edward Kisiner delivered a bases-clearing double, to make it 5-2 in favor of the Ghosts.
"They say the first rule of the playoffs is to win the home games," Kisiner said afterward. "It feels nice, but it is kind of what we were supposed to do."
