CASPER GHOSTS AT NORTHVILLE ECLIPSE

Gerkis, Ghosts Sink Eclipse Again in Game 2
The Northville Eclipse took the Casper Ghosts into extra frames today, but came up short.

It took 11 innings to do it, but Casper eventually triumphed, 6-4, to extend their lead in the SL AA Championship. Rookie first baseman Izaak Gerkis was the man of the hour for Casper, as he was 3-5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once in the Old-Timers Park contest. The win gives the Ghosts a 2-0 lead in the best-of-5 SL AA Championship.

Casper used the clutch hitting of Cam Lumsden to capture the win. The designated hitter drilled a 2-run double in the top of the 11th inning to give the Ghosts the lead, 4-2. For the game, Lumsden had 1 single and 1 double in 6 at-bats.

"It was a good day but I'm not letting my guard down," Gerkis said. "I'll let my guard down as soon as someone puts a big, fat championship ring on my finger."

The next game is set to be played Tuesday. Slated to start are Edwin Meadows for Northville and Wilson Tamayo for Casper.
