Arredondo Handcuffs Vibes, Blaze Seize 2-0 Advantage in R1
|
The South Beach Blaze moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the visiting Rocky Mountain Vibes at The Ballpark on the Beach by a score of 6-3. Blaze right-hander Pedro Arredondo was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball. The win gives the Blaze a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-5 PL A Championship.
The Vibes had little chance against Arredondo, who overpowered Rocky Mountain hitters and struck out 11.
"I believe in our guys," said South Beach skipper Vicente Rodríguez. "I like the energy they're playing with."
The next game is set to be played Wednesday at Bellevue Field in Bellevue. Slated to start are Shan-tang Yang for South Beach and Jim Sousa for Rocky Mountain.
