River Rats Clip BC 1-0 in R1 Contest
|
The Columbia River Rats and the Put-In-Bay BC will take the 3L A Championship to a decisive 5th game. Facing a must-win situation today, the River Rats shut out the BC 1-0 at Columbia Stadium to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Columbia right-hander Ki-tong Teoh was named player of the game in the win after a strong outing in which he threw 6 innings of shutout ball.
The River Rats liked what they saw from Teoh. The 21-year old pitcher had a commanding presence on the mound, limiting the BC to no earned runs on 2 hits over 6 innings, and striking out 7.
"We'll savor this win," Teoh told the Columbia Daily, "then get ready for the next game."
Game 5 is scheduled for Saturday, September 14th, 2041 at Put-In-Bay Ballpark. Slated to start are Claudio Ortega for the Columbia River Rats and Cecil Drabek for the the Put-In-Bay BC.
