Silver Sox Suffer 18-2 Drubbing
|
The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids blasted the Chicago Silver Sox, 18-2, at Silver Sox Park. Northern Virginia designated hitter Jorge Alejándrez was named player of the game for his productive day. He belted 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 4. With the loss, Chicago sinks to 5-12.
Alejándrez came through with some timely hitting for Northern Virginia. With the score 0-0 in the top of the second and no one down, Alejándrez hit a 2-2 forkball for a 2-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season made it 2-0, Northern Virginia.
"If we keep hitting the ball well, the wins will pile up," said Northern Virginia skipper David Lister.
