Pivotal Game Goes to Host 84s, 4-2
|
A strong performance from pitcher Alvin Randolph was not enough for the Seattle Rocketeers, who were stopped by the visiting Greenville 84s in a 4-2 loss in Game of the Silver League Championship today. The 84s never truly figured out the left-handed Randolph, who threw 5 innings of shutout ball to earn player of the game honors. Still, the 84s now hold a - in the best-of- series.
Had Lung Chaim not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Chaim hit a 2-run double. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the 84s.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Chaim. "And not try to do too much."
