Divided Roll to 9-1 Win Over Dirty Reds
|
The D.C. Divided grabbed a 9-1 win over the San Mateo Dirty Reds at Washington Stadium. D.C. left fielder Martín Chávez was 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 3 runs to earn player of the game honors. Markus Jutzi picked up the win with 5 innings of work. He allowed no earned runs on 2 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 2. On the season, he is now 1-0. The Divided now have a mark of 29-30.
The Divided got a lift from center fielder Stanley Zijm who had a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the first inning off Anastasio Cabanillas Jr.. It was his 23rd walk of the season and put D.C. in front, 1-0.
