Billy Goats Rally Past Shredders to Claim - Series Lead
|
The Colorado Billy Goats took the first game of the Silver League Championship in dramatic fashion today, topping the Hollywood Shredders in a ninth-inning, walk-off, 6-5 win. Shredders left-hander Johan Kroening was selected player of the game despite the loss, as he was 2 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3.
Luis Rodríguez, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2033 draft, contributed to the Colorado win with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the ninth. For the game, the shortstop had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Colorado manager Mack Kilkeary.
