Flamingos Topple Bowties with Late Rally
|
Las Vegas Flamingos starter Munoto Morishita was definitely locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Buckhead Bowties, 5-3. Las Vegas reliever Júlio Rodríguez picked up the win, bumping his record to 2-3. Anthony Hurst was collared with the loss. The 'W' lifts Las Vegas's record to 29-29.
Las Vegas used the timely hitting of Dirk Horwedel to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Flamingos on top, 5-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Morishita.
