|
The Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC defeated the Nashville Outlaws, 4-3, at Nashville Stadium today. Leading the charge for Thunder Bay was right fielder Gilberto Ocasio. He was 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Thunder Bay starter Hervé Favier was credited with the win after throwing 108 pitches over 5 innings. His record now stands at 5-5. Earning his 9th save for Thunder Bay was Miguel Rodríguez.
Ocasio contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Thunder Bay in the top of the third. With his team trailing 1-0, Ocasio took a fastball from Ramón Flores and stroked the home run to right-center. His 10th home run of the season allowed the Northern Lions BC to leap in front, 3-1.
"We played hard and won," said Ocasio. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
The Outlaws, at 29-29, have lost 4 in a row.
