The Boston Patriots moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the visiting Panama City Piranhas at Dunkin Donuts Park by a score of 6-1. Patriots right-hander Firpo Marberry was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he came in in relief and pitched to 22 batters . The win gives the Patriots a - advantage in the best-of- Round 1.

Eisse van Opdorp swatted a run-scoring double for Boston in the bottom of the first. The right fielder went 2 for 4 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 2 runs and batted in 2.

"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Boston manager Tyler Carter.
