Silver League Championship Game 1 Victory for Ienimea and Las Vegas
The Las Vegas Flamingos moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the Portland Evergreens 3-1 in a low-scoring affair at The Strip. Leading the way for the Flamingos was hurler Isaaka Ienimea, who was named player of the game after he threw 8 innings of 4-hit ball. The win gives the Flamingos a - advantage in the best-of- Silver League Championship.

Ienimea was effective against the Evergreens, seldom allowing a hard-hit ball. The left-hander limited Portland to just 1 run on 4 hits over 8 innings.

"We'll enjoy this win," said Ienimea. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
