The Patriots faced a stiff challenge from Cleveland pitcher Juan Vias, but persevered to claim a win at Factory of Sadness. The final score was 5-4. Vias went 5 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Boston reliever Rafael Herrera picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Eric Matson took the loss. It was the 11th win in 17 games this year for the defending champion Patriots, who are picking up where they left off.

Boston used the bat of Alfredo Araújo to get the win. The catcher hammered a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Patriots ahead, 4-3. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.

"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Araújo.
