Crescent City rode a good effort from starter Felipe Nieves to beat the Chesapeake Continentals at Chesapeake Grounds. The final score was 4-2. The winning pitcher was Nieves, now 5-5. He tossed 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 6. Crescent City, at 59-40, sits in first place in the Premier AA.
The Krewe grabbed the lead in the top of the third. With two out, Dave Summers hit a solo home run off Joe Haynes, putting Crescent City in front, 2-0. For Summers, it was his 4th home run of the season.
"I'm proud to be a part of what we've got going on here," Summers told the Crescent City Times. "It's a great group and we're happy with the win."
