Continentals Beat Shooters in 11

Chesapeake and Springfield played a hard-fought contest at Springfield Stadium.
The Chesapeake Continentals wiggled past the Springfield Shooters, 3-2, at Springfield Stadium. Chesapeake pitcher Joe Haynes earned player of the game honors. Chesapeake reliever Wayne Compton picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Ed Callahan absorbed the loss.
Esteban Rojas made it 3-2, Chesapeake, in the top of the 11th when he hit a sacrifice fly. It was a big at-bat in the Continentals win.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Haynes.
Chesapeake is now 47-43, Springfield 38-52.
