Blimps Suffer 10-4 Setback
|
In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.
The Crescent City Krewe defeated the Akron Blimps, 10-4, at Field of the Krewe. Crescent City left fielder José Soriano was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 2-5 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. Crescent City, now 51-36, holds second place in the Premier AA.
Rod Sarkies dealt the Blimps a blow in the bottom of the second. Batting with the bases loaded and Crescent City leading 1-0, Sarkies, who is tied for 5th in the PAA with a .398 on-base percentage, hit a 1-2 curveball for a run-scoring single.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Soriano said.
