Continentals Knock Off Blimps at Goodyear Hanger Dome

The Chesapeake Continentals went home winners at Goodyear Hanger Dome, thanks in large part to starter Paul Workman. Workman silenced the Akron Blimps, enabling Chesapeake to grab the 6-1 win. Workman, the winner, moves to 6-3. He threw 5.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 5 walks. Chesapeake is now 43-40. Akron is 50-33.
Chesapeake used a timely hit from Esteban Rojas to get the win. The shortstop delivered a run-scoring triple in the top of the third inning to put the Continentals on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Workman said.
