Blimps Pull Off Thrilling Win in Extras
The Akron Blimps got a strong performance from pitcher Billy Francis, who stymied the Mercer Island offense en route to a 3-2 win at Mercer Island Grounds. Wiley Shaw earned the save for Akron, his 3rd of the year. Akron is now 49-31, 3 games up in the Premier AA.

Akron used the timely hitting of Matthew Hunt to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 13th inning to put the Blimps on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 6 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Mercer Island skipper Justin Saginov.
