Ogres Stick Continentals with 6-4 Loss

The Olympia Ogres had to overcome a big game from Chesapeake first baseman Albert Porter to leave The Ogre Den with a 6-4 victory. Porter was 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Gonzalo Rossi got the win, improving to 2-9. He held the Continentals to 4 earned runs on 6 hits over 5.2 innings, while striking out 0 and walking 3. Olympia, now 31-46, holds 9th place in the Premier AA.
In the bottom of the fifth, Olympia left fielder Pepe Savinon had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and no one out, Savinon stroked a run-scoring single to center. It made the score 4-3, Olympia. For the game, he went 2-4 with 2 singles.
In comments to the Olympia Daily News, Savinon admitted that he doesn't always push himself. "But the results," he said, "speak for themselves."
