Palladium Sox Need Extras to Top Shooters
|
The Springfield Shooters got a superb performance from pitcher Carlos Semprún, but the Virginia Palladium Sox still won the game, 4-3. Semprún was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 5 innings of 2-hit ball. Virginia reliever Steve O'Fennaghty picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Prosper Azagba took the loss. The losing streak for Springfield has now reached 4 games.
Virginia took a 4-3 lead on Xavier Petit's 80th hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Petit hit in the bottom of the 11th, left Springfield pitcher Prosper Azagba shaking his head.
"We didn't go down without a fight," said Springfield manager Culley Adjeng.
