Sarkies Hits 3 home runs in Krewe Win
|
Sixshooters Stadium was the site for USPL Double A action featuring the Westwood Sixshooters and Crescent City Krewe.
Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Rod Sarkies, the Crescent City Krewe defeated the Westwood Sixshooters, 9-1. Sarkies slugged 3 home runs, while scoring 4 times and driving in 5 for the Krewe. Felipe Nieves, the winner, improved to 3-4. He held the Sixshooters to 1 earned run on 5 hits over 6.1 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 0.
Sarkies came through with some timely hitting for Crescent City. With the score 2-1 in the top of the third and no one down, Sarkies hit a first pitch cutter for a solo home run. His 8th home run of the season made it 3-1, Crescent City.
"If we play well, we'll win our share of games," said Sarkies. "The only team that can beat us is us."
Crescent City now has a 3-game win streak.
