The inspired effort of Chesapeake right fielder Pedro Santos was not enough to prevent a 7-4 loss to the Akron Blimps. Santos was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Akron is now 40-29, Chesapeake 35-34.

Akron used the bat of Sam Hamilton to get the win. The catcher hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Blimps ahead, 5-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.

"This is a very good team," said Hamilton. "We have the chance to do something special."
