The Akron Blimps beat the Crescent City Krewe, 4-3, at Goodyear Hanger Dome. The Blimps got a fine performance from third baseman Pedro Durán, who captured player of the game honors. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times. Akron starter Hsiao-lou Lei was credited with the win after throwing 111 pitches over 7.2 innings. His record now stands at 5-3. Wiley Shaw was called on to finish, recording his 2nd save.
One of the key players for the Blimps was right fielder Cristo Correa Jr., who drilled a run-scoring double in the bottom of the fourth inning. For the game, Correa Jr. went 1 for 3 with a double.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Crescent City skipper Kelly Flint, "and it cost us."
Akron bumps their record to 39-27 with the win.
