Angel Kitties Get Win, Extend Streak to 4
|
Bethlehem starter Francisco Díaz pitched effectively against the Northwest Territory Beavers at Beaver Town. The right-hander led his team to a 5-1 win. In 6 innings, Díaz surrendered 2 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 1. He allowed no runs. The 5th-place Angel Kitties have won 4 consecutive games.
Bethlehem used the timely hitting of Christian L'Écuyer to capture the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the third inning to put the Angel Kitties on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.
"That's the key at this level, throwing strike one," said Díaz. "Successful pitchers do it."
