The Bompton Baby Lakers picked up a win at Field of the Browns, knocking off the Ballard Beavers, 3-1. Starting pitcher Zhao-hui Teng was an essential part of his team's success. Teng picked up the win for Bompton, going 6 innings. He gave up 1 run on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 6-5. The Baby Lakers' win now puts them at 23-50.
Keaton Sturge had a big run-scoring double for the Baby Lakers in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Bompton leading 2-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a cutter from Gianlorenzo Albertini and stroked the double to left-center. It was his 16th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Baby Lakers ahead, 3-1.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Ballard skipper Edgardo Álvarez, "and it cost us."
