Tight Tilt Goes to Angel Kitties, 3-2
|
The Angel Kitties had to overcome a good performance from Ogallala pitcher Otis Knapp to claim a 3-2 win at Nebraska Aquarium. Knapp went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Francisco Díaz was the winning pitcher. Over 5 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 5 hits, with 1 walk and 6 strikeouts. The Angel Kitties move to 29-33 with the win, while the Octopi drop to 26-36.
Ángelo Gallegos had a big run-scoring single for the Angel Kitties in the top of the first inning. With Bethlehem leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Otis Knapp and stroked the single to center. It was his 23rd hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Angel Kitties ahead, 2-0.
Ogallala manager Luis Muñóz said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
