Snowpeople Sneak Past Shockers, 2-1
|
The Ellesmere Island Snowpeople picked up a win at The Igloo, knocking off the Surprise Shockers, 2-1. On the mound for Ellesmere Island was left-hander Marcos Lucero, who played a pivotal role in the win. The Snowpeople, now 46-50, have won 4 in a row.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Ellesmere Island designated hitter Rubén Jusino, facing Mark Adams, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Snowpeople the 2-1 win.
"We fed off the energy of the crowd at the end," Jusino said.
