Warheads Mow Down Fire, 9-4
|
The Amarillo Warheads defeated the Franklin Fire, 9-4, at Ballpark of Henderson today. Leading the charge for Amarillo was right fielder Getoff Mylawn. He was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The winner was Enrico Gallegos, who threw 65 pitches over 5.1 innings. The right-hander was charged with no runs on 1 hit. Amarillo bumps their record to 40-50 with the win.
Having an impact for Amarillo was Ron Burnett. In the bottom of the sixth inning, the 18-year old center fielder had a run-scoring strikeout to make the score 2-0, Warheads.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Burnett told the Amarillo Observer.
