Close Win Moves Beavers to 15-4
|
Kittie Park was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Northwest Territory Beavers and the Bethlehem Angel Kitties.
The Northwest Territory Beavers had to overcome a big game from Bethlehem shortstop Ernesto Valenzuela to leave Kittie Park with a 5-4 victory. Valenzuela was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Northwest Territory reliever Marlon Harris was credited with the win, to go to 1-0. Ángel Díaz took the loss for Bethlehem. Claude Richardson earned the save for Northwest Territory, his 5th of the year.
Fernan Espinoza, who is tied for 3rd in the 3R in bases on balls with 10, aided the Northwest Territory cause with a run-scoring ground out in the top of the fifth. For the game, the center fielder drove in one run.
"We'll savor this win," Espinoza told the Northwest Territory Chronicle, "then get ready for the next game."
Northwest Territory, at 15-4, has sizzled in the early going.
