Bvan Now 2-1 After Subduing Sea Dogs
|
The Ballard Beavers did just enough to secure a 1-0 victory over the Maine Sea Dogs at Field of the Sunchasers. Nobody did more than pitcher Mercedes Bvan, who captured player of the game honors. Ballard improves to 9-7 as they look to defend their championship.
Bvan was in the zone all game. He frustrated Maine hitters while giving the Beavers 6.1 innings of quality work. Bvan threw 91 pitches, allowing 1 hit and getting 8 punchouts.
"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Bvan.
